First of all identifying you have dry and damaged hair is the first step, if you have coarse or the hair suffers from split ends then this is a good indicator.

The key to this problem is nourishment, using a standard conditioner won't do the job and you need a more moisturising shampoo that will clean and cleanse without having to rub it in. It is important that the first stage of treatment involves little touching not to damage it further.

Once the hair is clean, use a nourishing conditioner or a hot oil conditioner following the instructions on each product carefully.

Perform this treatment for a week and try and keep hair products down to a minimum (just for the first week) and avoid mousse. Style with blow drying (hot) or leave in thickening solution.
